Where I Stand

Political Action Committees have sent questionnaires asking me to pledge myself to very specific positions on thousands of questions. My standard reply included this statement:

"Your questions raise important issues that directly affect every West Virginian. These are complex issues about which I need far more information before declaring how I would vote on legislation. If I am elected and these issues come before the House, I shall seek information from every interested party, and especially those in Greenbrier County."

As a Delegate, I will listen to the Greenbrier County experts - the citizens closest to situations. I will promote state laws to benefit ALL of Greenbrier County, especially:

  • Maintaining Greenbrier County's 2,000 miles of roads
  • Building a greenway two-lane limited access Lewisburg by-pass
  • Encouraging more living wage jobs
  • Supporting workers, entrepreneurs, business owners, and farmers
  • Promoting tourism and tourist attractions
  • Changing the Public Service Commission to nine elected members
  • Appreciating firefighters and first responders
  • Funding educational institutions: libraries, literacy programs, schools, colleges, medical schools and universities
  • Encouraging the artists, the daring, and the different who enliven our community - and their audiences
  • Allowing the self-employed and small businesses to buy into PEIA health insurance
  • Encouraging adequate reimbursement for our excellent medical providers
  • And above all, protecting abused children, Seniors, battered women, the working poor and the homeless
