Joan has and continues to be actively involved in issues close to my heart...domestic violence prevention, issues involving families, and for those needing help the most.  Another progressive woman would be a welcome addition to the House."

Bonnie Brown - Delegate, District 30-Kanawha

The West Virginia House of Delegates needs more good women like Joan Browning.  She'd fit right in and be a positive change for everyone in Greenbrier County.  I hope you'll vote for Joan Browning May 13th.  We need her in the West Virginia House of Delegates.

Nancy Guthrie, Delegate - District 30, Kanawha

I can highly recommend Joan Browning for one of the two seats from the 28th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates.  We need the voices of more women, with just 16 women out of 100 members in the House.  Women have different experiences than men.  Not only is it fairer to be sure that women's views are heard, I believe that we get a better product when we include input from all of our citizens.

I have known Joan for several years, serving with her on the Visiting Committee of the WVU Center for Women's Studies.  In that capacity, I have seen first hand her commitment to our state, her willingness to contribute her time to important causes, and her devotion to Greenbrier County.  More recently, she made a special trip to the Capitol to speak to the House committee on Seniors, advocating for the needs of the Greenbrier County Committee on Aging.

We need Joan Browning in the House of Delegates.

Barbara Evans Fleishauer - Delegate, District 44 Monongalia

It is only natural that Joan Browning be elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates. After a lifetime of community service, Joan is indeed ready to meet the challenges that face not only Greenbrier Countians, but all West Virginians. Her experience proves that dedication to the needs of all West Virginians will be met with enthusiasm, perseverance, and compassion. I support Joan Browning for the West Virginia House of Delegates.

I have known Joan Browning for many years, and the word that comes to my mind when I think of her is "fairness".  Joan believes everyone should be given a fair shake in all matters regardless of the color of their skin or the thoughts in their mind or the difference of their background.  Fairness is her goal, and fairness is how she lives her life.  I like that, and I trust that.

Ron Miller – Frankford

I have served with Joan Browning on the Board of Directors of Greenbrier County Committee on Aging.  As President of GCCA's Board, Joan has provided effective leadership in Board training and in presenting the case for support of Greenbrier County seniors to local and state officials.  She is also a member of our Greenbrier County Association of Retired School Employees.  She is a dependable, outstanding leader, and I believe she would serve us well as a Delegate to the Legislature.

Joan Browning will be an excellent representative of Greenbrier County.  Her tireless championing for improvements to the intangibles of living and working in our wonderful state will provide conscience to the Legislature and give our citizens more voice in directing West Virginia’s future.

It is rare to see an individual as committed to public service as Joan Browning. Joan's diverse background, dedication, and the ability to get results are unmatched.  Her unconditional giving to the public is what delegates should exemplify.  I encourage people to support Joan with your vote.  Best of luck from your friend.

I first met Joan Browning in 1999 while conducting research for my work on female civil rights activists at the Amistad Research Center in New Orleans.  When I signed in at the front desk, I recognized her name immediately and as a young, enthusiastic graduate student of the civil rights movement, introduced myself.  That chance meeting led to lunch and, now, an almost decade-long friendship.  Through the years, while Joan has been one of the most ardent supporters of my work, I have reciprocally admired Joan for her commitment to the struggle for human rights and human dignity.  Joan has dedicated her life to seeing that those most often in need – the poor, minorities, women, and children – are represented and heard.  Her courage, integrity, intelligence, and commitment, I believe, make her uniquely qualified to represent West Virginia as a delegate for Greenbrier County.

We are proud to lend our names in support of Joan Browning for Delegate to the WV state legislature.  For her lifetime, Joan has been a champion of equality, justice and civil rights.  It has been a privilege to know her.  Women and men of integrity and advocates for the needs of the ordinary citizens of WV are needed in the legislature and Joan is a woman who will be that voice, that person of integrity and that advocate as a delegate.

I cannot imagine anyone better to serve the citizens of Greenbrier County in the House of Delegates than Joan Browning. She possesses a deep love of West Virginia, a lifelong passionate commitment to helping others, and a steadfast moral courage that is unequaled. The world would be a much better place if we had more people like her in politics.

In addition to the hundreds of reasons to vote for Joan Browning, I suggest adding her vision, integrity, and principles.  Her life personifies selfless service for others and a dedication to equal rights for all citizens.  I first admired Joan as a civil rights activist and have been privileged recently to work with her both in the Southern Historical Association and in the Organization of American Historians.  Joan brings enthusiasm, energy, and wisdom to each issue.  Greenbrier County is fortunate to have Joan Browning running as a delegate to the West Virginia House of Delegates.

I have known Joan Browning from our high school days and I know her to be a responsible, trustworthy, capable and brilliant person through the years. She did quite a bit of reading even then to keep the "wheels of her mind" turning.  Her patience and silence provided her with time to think issues and situations through and then she would speak and it would be worthwhile to listen.  I do hope the people of her area will consider her depth, knowledge, committment and concern to represent them.  They will certainly be the better for it.

From a message to Joan:  "I knew if anyone could make a difference, it would be you. You have always been gifted and special to Sue and myself and I always felt inside that you would pursue change.  I hope you win the election."
